This place is crazy! Especially on weekends. Walk up from Washington all the way to Santa Monica pier, it's a good amount of walking, but all the crazy will keep you distracted

Grew up in West Los Angeles. Born in 1954 and lived there until 1996. It was the perfect place to group. Parks, movies, pools, the beach 6 miles away, places to ride our bikes, vacant lots to play in, plenty of neighborhood stores where everybody knew you and your family. It was starting to get a Title run down when ...

Los Angeles was a destination in my youth - not a permanent stay, but not without dreaming. Karl the Fog and I had too many disputes about coverage, the lack of heat. Finally, unclenched from the misty, rolling hills of San Francisco, I moved down to Los Angeles. Technically, Santa Monica, which, when people ask where you live and you ...

In an industrial part of LA off the I-405 Freeway, Torrance is one of my fave neighborhoods to explore just because of its Japanese community connections. Here you can spend days searching out the best bowl of ramen, or just drop by the Japanese import shops and supermarkets to stock up on groceries and hard-to-find items from Tokyo and beyond.

Another south bay beach. Parking is metered. They recently paved the street. Glad to get rid of the construction. Most of the bars are laid back. Come in your board shots and flip flops. They have a very beach environment.

Universal City is an entertaining place for movie lovers and families. It is a combination of a theme park and movie studio. It's one of the oldest movie studios still in use today. I went here with my family several years ago and had fun on the rides.
