Yes, the Marriott chain does provide a consistency that makes it easier to sleep at night, but in a town like Breckenridge where there are so many other spectacular local choices, it seems silly to stay here. Its huge yellow concrete facility felt more like a cold concrete canyon than a welcoming lodge-style hotel, and the front desk staff were almost as cold and stale as the building. What this place does have is amenities and clean comfortable accommodations, not to mention the pool they share with Main Street Station is really awesome. It also has a private parking garage and is only a short walk to the lift.

The Marriott Mountain Valley Lodge was one of the first "high rises" to make its way into Breck. At the time it was something of a giant and an anomaly. Now it's literally dwarfed by some of many of the mega resorts located in town.
If you can get past the somewhat dated architecture, the place rocks. Because of it's early entry into the Breck scene, the location is top notch. You're look right across the picturesque Maggie Pond to the base of Peak 9 and the Quicksilver high speed six-passenger lift.
The floor plans are... interesting. Not unpleasant but just different than the usual. It could have been our room though. The service was awesome, but remember, this is largely a timeshare resort, so many who come to these places kind of know the drill before they walk in the door, e.g. here's your key, have a great time, we are there for you if you need anything.
The game room for kids was one of the best I've seen, and the exercise room looked like all of the equipment was out-of-the-box new. The outdoor pool and hot tubs, which is shared with the Main Street Station, has one of the best views in the County.
Would stay here again and again for sure.Recommended for:Family Travelers

The staff here was less than friendly. The lobby was dim and unremarkable.
At the Marriott, you do get access to a very nice pool and hot tub area that is outside.
If you are looking for a very standard hotel experience then the Marriott might be the destination for you.
The location was not very close to town or the free shuttles.
The Marriott does not have much of the feeling of Breckenridge. It is sort of like going to a chain restaurant in a small town. It will do the trick, but in a basic way without much flair or character.
