    Marliave

    4.5
    6 reviews

Marliave is a great little place in downtown Boston (close to Park Street and Downtown Crossing stops) which has dollar oysters every day from 4-6 and 9-10 pm. In addition, they have an inventive cocktail list. Their regular menu looks fine, but honestly I always go for the oysters. The whole place is infused with a Prohibition-y retro feeling.

    Quincy Market / Faneuil Hall

Quincy Market offers so much food that it's really hard to decide what to eat. My personal Highlight: "Boston Pretzel" ;)

    Giacomo's Restaurant

    4.5
    11 reviews

Small place but arguably one of the most popular at North End. There is almost always a wait outside the tiny door, the interior is crowded but customers get to be up and close with the kitchen staff and see how the chefs operate. The waiters yells out your order to the kitchen, quite a sight and experience. The food ...

    Maria's Pastry Shop

    4.5
    3 reviews

Just a turn from the packed mikes bakery, but not already pre filled cannolis and just as good. If you're not down to wait in line at mikes, walk a block and get a cannoli from Maria's instead.

    Trident Booksellers & Cafe

    4.5
    12 reviews

The Trident is a Boston institution. An independent bookstore, its cafe serves salads, breakfast, and various other basic but fresh and delicious food. A great place to browse, buy, and then sit down with your new book for some tea and something.

    Anna's Taqueria

    5 reviews

YUMMM! I miss this place so much! The burritos are AWESOME and so filling yet feel healthy due to the fresh veggies they use. I am a vegetarian, and often veggie burritos seem lacking (like they're missing an ingredient). At Anna's, they use completely fresh veggies which they chop right in front of you for your burrito. They have vegetarian ...

    Ernesto's Pizza

    4
    2 reviews

Ernesto's is a great local favorite where you can get unique combinations with a paupers paycheck. While the "$5 a slice" price tag may seem like a stretch to be considered a bargain meal, you actually you get two large slices (a quarter of a pie equivalent). A complete steal if you ask me, but worthless if it tastes like ...

    Galleria Umberto

    4.5
    2 reviews

Yes, the lines are long. And yes, the ambiance is less than impressive. But the cuisine at Galleria Umberto is oh-so-delicious and so incredibly cheap! I will also admit that I'm usually a crispy, thin-crust kind of gal, but it didn't take long for me to fall in love with the Sicilian style, thick, chewy dough smothered in sauce and ...

    Mike's Pastry

The most famous cannoli shop in boston. So many different flavors to choose from and always a long wait, but I can see why! I got the hazelnut cannoli and it was amazing. Also try the lobster tail!

    Pho Pasteur Restaurant

    4.5
    3 reviews

I came here for one thing and one thing only so far - Pho Tai. A side of rare beef with zesty lemon wedges next to a steaming hot bowl of pho = heavenly. The beef slices are always thinly cut, gleaming with freshness and with a squeeze of lemon juice and a go around inside pho soup, it's half ...

    Mr. Bartley's Burger Cottage

    4.5
    9 reviews

The best burger in Boston. Ignore the cheesy joke names (the Afghan-attack this and you'll never leave!?!?) and concentrate on the juicy meaty food. I love that you can also order a raspberry lime rickey or an egg cream to wash it all down.

    Causeway

    4.5
    2 reviews

Causeway is one of those great hole-in-the-wall spots. The food is quite affordable and very tasty! You can't get fresher fish. I've heard good reviews specifically about the fish and clam chowder, although I opted for the basic fish and chips. The only downside is that they pack folks in here, but I'd say it's quite worth it!

    Boston beer works

    4
    2 reviews

I had been dying to go to this place for a while now. They make their own brews, have pool tables and serve slightly more gourmet pub grub. It's a great spot and I can't wait to go back again!

    Olde Magoun's Saloon

    4
    2 reviews

Olde Magoun's Saloon is not a fancy spot. But if you're looking for some creative burger choices and a decent beer list, this is a good choice. It's a solid pub choice. Not quite as innovative and foodie-focused to be called a Gastro-pub, yet still a solid neighborhood joint.
