I want to give this place 5 stars but I can’t. We stopped by here on a Phi Phi Island tour, we had 30 minutes to enjoy this place but we really couldn’t because the beach was filled with people! It didn’t look very peaceful and serene like the movie The Beach but other than that, the beach is beautiful! Definitely a place to stop by when in Thailand, hopefully the crowds of people won’t ruin it for you!

One of my memorable ocean adventures was at Maya Bay. The ocean was just amazingly gorgeous. Book a boat snorkel tour and get a chance to swim with the colorful fishes and marine life.

Summer is low season here, and some travelers are put off by the rougher seas, but a trip in the summer months means avoiding the crowds of winter and having this cliff-covered bay largely to yourself.

Maya Bay is a stunningly beautiful bay that's sheltered by 100-metre high cliffs on three sides. Inside the bay there are several beaches, most are small and some only exist at low tide. The main one is around 200 metres long with silky soft white sand, underwater colourful coral and exotic fish in exceptionally clear water; the whole bay is one big reef. The best time to visit Maya Bay is between November and April during the high season when seas are calm and access to the bay is easy. Rough seas from May to October may hinder access but rarely deny entry.

We took a tour that took us to a couple islands and areas. This was one of the area they took us and the Bay area they sort of parked the boat and you could go for a dive. The water isn't too deep. I believe at some part of it, you are standing in the middle of the bay. The water is pretty clear around here too.

One of the best places I have ever been in my life. The bay is breathtaking, particularly when you are entering it with the boat. I went during Xmas break and was very crowded, but still was definitely worth it. Many tours depart from Phuket and Krabi to Phi Phi Islands and Maya Bay is usually included

We got a driver from Phuket, Patong which was a 1 1/2 hour drive. Once we got there we walked along wooded pathways towards the jetty were our long tail boat
was waiting to take us around the bay to James Bond island and the floating restaurants. The Muslim population of 2000 people reside there working and doing the same thing everyday which would drive me crazy, at least they have the most beautiful views around water that i have ever seen. It was so relaxing on the boat taking photos and waving at other tourist's going by.

If you've seen the movie 'The Beach' starring Leonardo Di Caprio, you will exactly know what this place is. In the movie, its called by another name but its real name known around Phi Phi island is, Maya Bay. Its the most amazing place and a must see travel spot.
