Stoney Beach faces Buzzards Bay and is especially great for kids as the water remains shallow for a ways out. There is a small parking lot at Stoney, and you must have a Falmouth beach sticker, or day pass ($10) which is available at the Beach House on Surf Drive. It is about a 10-15 min. walk from the house. There are lifeguards at Stoney Beach in summer, as well as an ice-cream truck that comes by. Portalets and free freshwater showers.
"This oasis is a cherished Woods Hole spot. For kids, Stoney beach is exceptional for its lack of rocks and waves. Stoney Beach is one of Woods Hole's treasures. Its sandy and sheltered waters provide a perfect atmosphere for kids and adults alike." - See more at: http://ma.usharbors.com/image-gallery/tiny-treasure-woods-hole-stoney-beach#sthash.nTfaOCLi.dpuf
