A very classy hotel. Checkout the bulls heads on the wall in the bar. Also a must is to visit the rooftop bar and patio. Great scene Thursday to Sunday nites.

The penthouse bar at this hotel is the place to be in Madrid!
After going up there I understood why.
It has great drinks, beautiful people and a sexy vibe.
No wonder there was a line around the building.
The hotel overlooks Plaza Santa Ana which is the best place to go for tapas and sangria.
The people watching isnt so bad either.
The rooms are modern and rival any W hotel I have ever been to.
A great place to people watch.

White marble and glowing purple lights make up the exterior of this superb hotel. The hotel commands the attention of one of Madrid's stellar plazas (town square): filled with peckish hands and thirsty mouths. This elegant hotel offers a more-than-comfortable stay and is centrally located...you're only a 2 minute walk to the Metro/Subway and are surrounded by bars, restaurants, and shops. Even if you're not staying here for the night, head to the rooftop bar and restaurant for a panoramic view with well dressed companions.

The ME might not be the best option for lodging (from what I've seen, the rooms are small with trendy, modern decor - you are probably paying mostly for the location), however I do suggest that you visit the rooftop terraza for drinks at night. It has spectacular views of the city. Definitely worth visiting! (Be prepared to be an entry charge, which includes a drink.)

What do I think is the best thing about this hotel? Probably that it doesn’t even feel like a hotel! Walking into the lobby was like entering a modern art gallery (but a welcoming one with comfy chairs) - beautiful art on the walls, great books on the tables and even a large tastefully-mounted flat-screen silently playing classic films. And the long chic bar that opens out onto the stunning Plaza de Santa Ana (definitely my favourite square in Madrid, full of outside dining in the sun) seemed just as busy with Madrid locals as hotel guests. A copy of Vanity Fair and Bazaar in the room was a first for me. And there wasn’t a minibar...there was what they call a “maxibar” - effectively a minibar on anabolic steroids, complete the cocktail shakers and martini glasses. Plus the room was helpfully equipped with adapter plugs built directly into the wall. A few other reviews have mentioned the rooftop bar - so I wont gush about that (except to say, order the mojito). Keep in mind there’s no pool, and though you don’t need to be young to stay here (I saw families and older guests), you’d better be young at heart. A quick tip - ask for a room facing the square. Trust me.

I really liked my stay at ME. It's got one of the best locations and was conveniently located near the Prado Museum. The rooftop terrace and bar was totally cool ... and when I went there was a pretty social crowd there which made it all the better.

It's a bit over priced and the rooms are a little smaller than others, but I thought it was well worth the unique stay and the convenience.
