This area is the epicenter of the western mythology of North Dakota. The town was a sleepy little town when a French nobleman came to build a meat packing plant and named the town for his wife.
Shortly there after Theodore Roosevelt came and spent the next 4 years ranching and sorting out his life after the death of his wife.
The town is a typical summer tourist town with a western feel.
A couple of highlights are the Medora musical and the pitchfork fondue. The fondue is really just steaks cooked in boiling oil on the end of pitchforks.
The real attraction is the scenery and the wildlife.
