Loved staying at the Park Hyatt. The rooms are wonderful laid out. Walk in closet. A bathroom which includes a shower, jet tub and a separate room for toilet. The in-room amenities were excellent and abundant. The staff is first rate. Location is perfect.

    Art Series - The Olsen

    Art Series - The Olsen

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    4 reviews

Forget the city center, Chapel Street is where the true heart and soul of Melbourne reside. Kitschy coffee shops and trendy boutiques are what this part of town is all about, so it's no surprise that The Olsen hotel—one of three in the city's Art Series—is itself a bastion of culture and quirk. The colorful works of renowned Australian artist ...

    InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto

    InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    3 reviews

Having ventured into many a 5-star hotel (if for no other reason than to use the bathroom), I was still struck by that little something special that is immediately discernable in the lobby of the Intercontinental Rialto. The converted space was once two separate buildings and so is now something of an architectural marvel with exposed brick and a skylight ...

    Westin Melbourne Hotel

    Westin Melbourne Hotel

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    3 reviews

Fantastic central Melbourne location. Minute walk to anything. Grand hotel overlooking on of Melbourne busiest city squares. Lofty grand foyer with lots of comfy seats and a bar to the right. The rooms are expansive, the hallways are serene, a bit asian inspired while being very modern and clean. Quiet, well built hotel with all the amenities. Would add value ...

    Hilton Melbourne South Wharf

    Hilton Melbourne South Wharf

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    2 reviews

The Hilton South Wharf is a feast for the eyes: pops of color, art installations around every corner (and a Mercedes Benz in the lobby when I was there). I'll admit the receptionist I happened to interact with a little brusque, but the hotel was pretty busy so I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume she was ...

    The Lyall Hotel and Spa

    The Lyall Hotel and Spa

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    3 reviews

Situated down a quiet, leafy lane in South Yarra, the Lyall Hotel and Spa is every bit as serene as you’d expect. A fireplace welcomes you inside the entrance of the sunlit interior. Dark grey walls lead down long corridors to the well-outfitted spa area where guests can arrange for treatments ranging from a hot stone massage to hydrotherapy ($80/person ...

The Lindrum Hotel, named for the Lindrum Billiard Center that was once housed in this historic building, is a boutique hotel that is worth checking out if you can manage to snag one of the only 59 rooms. The downstairs area is replete with unique touches that are at once cozy and luxurious. From the working fireplace to a pool ...

    Sofitel Melbourne on Collins

    Sofitel Melbourne on Collins

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    3 reviews

The Sofitel has an air of easy elegance about itself, like it doesn’t have to try too hard to be a 5-star hotel. The public areas are outfitted with ample plush seating, perfect for resting your feet after a long day of taking in all that Melbourne has to offer. The large guestrooms are similarly inviting and bathrooms in the ...

    Art Series - The Blackman

    Art Series - The Blackman

    4
    2 reviews

The lobby of the Blackman clearly reveals the hotel’s status as one of the city’s three Art Series hotels (the others being the Cullen and the Olsen). The walls are adorned with a dizzying array of the works of Australian artist Charles Blackman. Beyond the entryway, the hotel proudly displays Blackman’s largely bunny-themed art around every corner of the modern ...

    Crown Towers

    Crown Towers

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    6 reviews

Wow wow what a hotel. Now this is what I call 'fancy pants'. Being part of a Casino this is the flashy kind of 5-star, when compared to the more sedate Grand Hyatt and Langham. This is 5-star all the way. The rooms are impeccable and swish. The service is highly professional. Everything you would expect in a five-star hotel ...

    The Sebel Albert Park

    The Sebel Albert Park

    Hotel Class:
    3.5
    2 reviews

The hotel is lovely – while the lobby is more luxurious than the rooms themselves, the rooms are still more spacious than a lot of 5 star hotels and the beds are some of the softest I’ve ever felt. The restaurant’s food is impressive (though very expensive) and the gym and amenities are top notch. The hotel is lovely, but ...

    Crowne Plaza Melbourne

    Crowne Plaza Melbourne

    Hotel Class:
    3.5
    5 reviews

The Crowne Plaza is a massive complex situated right on top of the Yarra River. Not to be confused with the Crown Towers and casino across the street, the Crowne Plaza is its own entity complete with convention center-sized meeting rooms (and also located just a few blocks from the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre)—so presumably a great place to ...

    Melbourne Marriott Hotel

    Melbourne Marriott Hotel

    Hotel Class:
    3.5
    5 reviews

For a five star hotel, the Marriott is not really awe inspiring, which perhaps shouldn’t come as a surprise given that it’s the brand’s second smallest hotel at 185 rooms. The location is terrific and the staff are lovely and the arty photographs that adorn the walls are a nice touch. The rooms are a good size but the carpet ...

    Stamford Plaza Melbourne

    Hotel Class:

Centrally located all-suites (with kitchenette) hotel that is closed to the Collins street shops and restaurants, the Stamford Plaza provides great service, good value, and a very comfortable place to call home away from home.

    Crown Casino & Entertainment Complex

    Crown Casino & Entertainment Complex

    4
    7 reviews

The Crown Casino and Hotel is right near the Yarra River in Melbourne, next to the river promenade, with hits shopping and restaurants. This part of Melbourne reminds me a lot of downtown Chicago, with its tall buildings, river, and well organized layout. The casino itself is not quite like the mega-casinos on the Las Vegas strip, but it is ...

    Victoria Hall

    Victoria Hall

    Hotel Class:
    4
    4 reviews

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Space Hotel, given that I approached it with the impression that it was little more than a backpacker haven. At first, this seemed like an accurate descriptor: the lobby is also an internet cafe and is plastered with brochures for tourist activities and cheap eats. However, despite the number of very ...

    Mantra on Little Bourke

    Mantra on Little Bourke

    Hotel Class:
    3.5
    4 reviews

As serviced apartments go, you would scarcely believe that the hotel is so centrally located – the windows keep out as much light and noise pollution as you want, and the rooms are so spacious and the kitchen so complete that you could almost want to make all your own meals and stay inside for the entirety of your stay ...
