A different take on the Aussie beach, this is long, long, long and a great place for a swim or a jog. Great little cafes along the beach, and places to eat or picnic.

Go to the information stand and get a free map for some great Melbourne Walks. The Arcades and Lanes is an easy 1.5 km zig zag through the downtown core. It mixes the old with the new. Just be prepared for the crowds since it huts many generally popular places. Be sure to stop for an alley way coffee and ...

    Luna Park

    17 reviews

This is fun if you're with kids. Small, old fashioned amusement park. There's a bit of tradition here, but don't go looking for any big rides for adults. The "fairy floss" is fun (cotton candy).

    Melbourne Museum

A good overview of Melbourne can be found in this museum. My favourite standing exhibition is of life in one of the inner city streets when it was a slum long ago - Little Lonsdale Street. The museum also has various temporary exhibitions and has hosted big name exhibits such as Tutankhamun. This is a brisk 20 minute walk from ...

    Chapel Street

I'm a bit meh on Chapel Street. I don't believe it is worth a trip out there, only if you are staying nearby. There are a handful of boutiques you won't find elsewhere but mostly it is the same chain stores you can find anywhere. Parts of the retail strip have gone quite downhill in recent years. As for food ...

    St Kilda Pier

    11 reviews

St. Kilda Pier shows off the best of Melbourne's most famous beach neighborhood. The best time to go is right before sunset so that you can walk all the way out to the end and see the colony of fairy penguins return for the evening. (Forget Phillip Island, you can find a mini-version for as cheap as a tram ride ...

Beautiful place! See it during different times of the day. During the day you'll be able to look at the architecture and go inside to have a look. At night it kinda glows against the dark background of trees and night. At night you'll also better the flame.

Was here for the Australian Open and talk about heat!! It was a scorcher of a day I'm pretty sure my seat was wet from the moisture. Great views from anywhere though I suggest you avoid seats that has direct sunlight as they can get quite unbearable!
