This hotel is ideally located right on the river Spree, and one minute's walk away from the transit hub of Friedrichstrasse. Amazing if you can get a room with a river view, but also fun just to walk outside and walk along the river. The staff is always friendly and attentive, but not overly so, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. There is an attached tapas bar with river views, if your room doesn't happen to provide one, but unfortunately the hotel breakfast costs extra.Recommended for:

It feels like you're headed to a cabaret extravaganza just walking into this hotel, a glowing and grandiose piece of architecture sitting across the Spree. A quick walk to Friedrichstrasse and a bundle of Berlin attractions, the Melia also offers an elegant and comfortable interior: in the spacious rooms, there's even a directory of pillow types to guarantee the best sleep. The prices are reasonable for a luxury hotel, but indulging in the massive breakfast buffet can cost up to 30 euros extra.Recommended for:

Located across from Freidrichstraße and on the bank of the River Spree, this is a great place to stay. The rooms are lovely, the food in the restaurant tasty, and the location perfect for exploring Berlin (Unter den Linden, Museum Island, Alexanderplatz, the Brandenburg Gate and Reichstag are all within walking distance).Recommended for:
