The vegetable omelets are huge, the coffee hot and plentiful, wait staff friendly and the place feels open and airy. We enjoyed breakfast here, and in Banff prices, the cost seemed very reasonable.

Melissa's Missteak has been a noted Banff Steakhouse and Family Restaurant for over 30 years. I came here for a family Breakfast, and later for a Joe Canadian Burger for Lunch (remember the Molson Commercial?). The bonus is eating and relaxing in this unique 1928 vintage landmark building. Melissa's offers good honest family food that is sometimes hard to find in tourist popular locale such as the Banff Town Site. This place is very kid friendly too.

Melissa’s Restaurant and Bar is an old standby in Banff. I would recommend it highly for breakfast -- everything from massive waffles to Eggs Benedict. The lunch and dinner menu offers casual fare ranging from pizzas to burgers. The specialty is steaks. Nothing inventive but generally well done. The downside is the restaurant does not take reservations so if you arrive at a popular time, there can be quite a wait.
