- Memory Grove ParkAug 27, 2012
Memory Grove is the THE city park near downtown Salt Lake for dog lovers. It is situated just a few blocks from downtown in a narrow canyon, and consists of a decent sized grassy park with pond, and a beautiful creek that runs up into the woods and into the foothills.
Many many people bring their dogs to this park to walk them up the pleasant and mild hiking trails. The stream that runs along the main trail is shallow and perfect for dogs to play in. I bring my daughter here frequently on hot summer days and we hike up the creek in the water. It's a great place to cool off and feel like you're out in nature, even though the city is just a couple blocks away.
If you're in Salt Lake and pressed for time but would like to do a quick little "hike", hit the trails at Memory Grove Park. The surrounding neighborhood is also interesting with old houses and cottages.
Memory Grove is located a couple blocks from downtown Salt Lake, northeast of the Temple and the City Creek Mall.

Memory Grove is right near Trolley Square and gives you a look into the kind of creepy side of the city. You can also see the Mason side of things because this is full of Masonic representation. Come here in the evening to get a little creeped out.
