Memphis is the largest city in Tennessee and the 3rd largest city in the Southeastern U.S. One of the largest celebrations the city has is Memphis in May. The month-long series of events promotes Memphis' heritage and outreach of its people far beyond the city's borders. There are four main events: the Beale Street Music Festival, International Week, The World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest, and the Sunset Symphony. The World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest is the largest pork barbecue cooking contest in the world.

A lovely town full of warm, welcoming folks, great food, picturesque neighborhoods and epic music history for anyone who is a fan of country, the blues, americana or rock n' roll. And of course, there's still exceptional artists found working and performing all over this charming southern city today.

Home of the late Elvis Presley and many other famous musicians, Memphis, TN, offers it's visitors a look back into the history of Rock and Soul and the civil rights movement. Downtown Memphis has mouth watering BBQ, toe tapping and booty shaking live music, and plenty of drink options for those needing to quench their thirst.

What can I say? I grew up here, and this is my home. I lived like down the street from graceland for almost 15 years. Living and going to school in the most ghetto part of town and never have been there once. I changed that after I visited Memphis and had free passes to go given to me because you have to go before you leave. Well that said and done, I love my hometown and the culture I grew up with while I was there.Recommended for
