Memphis is a border town with Mississippi and Arkansas nearby. Memphis is proud of its musical history thanks to Elvis, blues, and soul music. Its food tradition isn't so bad either thanks to Memphis style barbecue.Recommended for:

Ribs and pork sandwiches are the staples of Memphis-style barbecue: dry-rubbed and smoked over hickory, and often mopped with sauce while cooking. To eat with the savviest locals, head to one of the branches of Central BBQ, which does a classic pork sandwich, pulled-pork nachos, and even a four-ounce barbecued bologna sandwich (the newest is downtown, next to the National Civil Rights Museum). Another favorite—especially with local chefs—is the Bar-B-Q Shop (“home of the Dancing Pigs BBQ sauce”), which claims to be the birthplace of another Memphis staple, sauce-coated barbecue spaghetti. And while the locals ranked at the bottom of the survey for being physically fit, Memphis impressed readers with its bluesy street performers and low-cost luxuries.Recommended for:

Memphis is the largest city in Tennessee and the 3rd largest city in the Southeastern U.S. One of the largest celebrations the city has is Memphis in May. The month-long series of events promotes Memphis' heritage and outreach of its people far beyond the city's borders. There are four main events: the Beale Street Music Festival, International Week, The World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest, and the Sunset Symphony. The World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest is the largest pork barbecue cooking contest in the world.

A lovely town full of warm, welcoming folks, great food, picturesque neighborhoods and epic music history for anyone who is a fan of country, the blues, americana or rock n' roll. And of course, there's still exceptional artists found working and performing all over this charming southern city today.Recommended for:
Home of the late Elvis Presley and many other famous musicians, Memphis, TN, offers it's visitors a look back into the history of Rock and Soul and the civil rights movement. Downtown Memphis has mouth watering BBQ, toe tapping and booty shaking live music, and plenty of drink options for those needing to quench their thirst.

Memphis, a city of the three B's. Blues music, BBQ food, and beer! It's a city that offers plenty of history along the powerful Mississippi River. If you love music and food, this is the city for you!

What can I say? I grew up here, and this is my home. I lived like down the street from graceland for almost 15 years. Living and going to school in the most ghetto part of town and never have been there once. I changed that after I visited Memphis and had free passes to go given to me because you have to go before you leave. Well that said and done, I love my hometown and the culture I grew up with while I was there.Recommended for:
After visiting for the first time I can safety say that Memphis is one of my favourite cities. There is so much to be explored and the numerous museums/attractions/points of interest mean that there is something to keep everyone entertained. Beale street, the Peabody ducks, sun studios and Graceland are probably the most famous Memphis attractions and everyone of them is brilliant. :)
My numerous travels to Memphis over the years, always leave me wanting more! Memphis is the home of Elvis Presley and Graceland. One trip to Memphis will undoubtedly bring one back for more of the Elvis thrill, excitement and Elvis' gospels! This year is the 35th Anniversary of Elvis' death on August 16, 1977. All who go there are in for an Elvis experience of a lifetime. There is no entertainer that could ever come close to Elvis!
Viva Elvis forever! Viva Memphis, the center of rock and the blues, and a humble young boy who called Memphis home.
