Although the lobby of Mercure B and P is stuffy and dated, there are many aspects of the hotel that make it stand out. As soon as I walked in, I was welcomed by the friendly staff. The rooms are small, but the views and decorating make up for that. There is a restaurant located next door that caters only to hotel guests and also provides room service for part of the day. The hotel provides free wifi in all of its rooms and public areas. For the more adventurous souls, they provide free bicycles to use around town. All of this pales in comparison to the new, remodeled eleventh floor. It has beautiful suites and double rooms complete with gorgeous sea view balconies. The price is more expensive, but it is well worth the upgrade.

Close to the beach and on one of the most tourist-friendly streets in Tel Aviv, the Mercure is a small-scale and very comfortable hotel. Sparkling new, with comfy, simple rooms, you'll have everything you need here including bikes you can borrow. Their lobby is a nice little bar, and you can walk two doors down for breakfast at a CafeCafe chain branch that only serves hotel guests. The only limitations were that the staff operations are the first thing you see when you walk into reception and that they have no outdoor space to speak of. The space, however, is cozy and sensibly laid out. The lobby is decorated with shots of Bauhaus buildings from Tel Aviv of yesteryear – which did help situate the hotel within its context in the city. A nice enough place, not necessarily remarkable in anyway, but a solid option for the center of town.
