The good: the front desk staff at check-in was very friendly, the room had working A/C, working refrigerator for chocolate, and a reasonably comfortable bed.
The bad: the restaurant was closed for a private event so we had to eat in the bar area. The food was mediocre and we were told that they don't offer tap water - only $6 a small bottle mineral water which is steep for a child's drink. But what really made it a bad experience was when we were leaving and I received the bill. The bill indicated "Room #, Name, and Signature" to charge to your room, so I filled out the info and handed it to the bartender knowing that the front desk had taken my credit card info for incidentals and restaurant charges the night prior. As we were getting ready to enter the elevator, the bartender accuses me of trying to leave without paying the bill. I indicated that I was charging it to my room and he says "you can't do that here". So, my question was why they gave me a bill that offers me the option to bill it to my room. He says that it is forbidden by policy and calls the front desk (15 feet away). After a few minutes, he says never mind and that it was all a big misunderstanding. The next morning, I inquired about printing off our boarding passes and was told that the business center cost extra - payable by chip & pin card only. Well, that makes the business center absolutely useless to Americans without chip & pin cards. Odd that in the UK and U.S., printing boarding passes is something that hotels permit for free.
If given no other option, I would probably stay here again, but I just wasn't impressed given the cost of the room.
