This just happens to be one of my favorite cities - and not just because I was born here. Aspen is beautiful any time of year. Some of my favorite memories are in the spring up in the mountains surrounded by wild flowers. Nothing gets better than being in a field when a sun shower surprises you and there's nothing ...

Located about 45-minutes from Aspen, Basalt is charming little town with a smattering of good restaurants, galleries, and outdoorsy activities liking fishing, boating, and mountain biking. It also has a good variety of lodgings, especially short-term rentals if you're looking for a home away from home.

Breckenridge is a cute town with a lot to offer from great food to fun boutiques. It's got a great location in the middle of a good selection of ski mountains from Vail to A Basin and more!

We didn't like Vail much. It was a quiet little "town" that seemed to consist of a bunch of condos and a ski area.

I came to Crested Butte in the summer, and it was absolutely amazing. Spectacular hikes through fields of wildflowers every day. Incredible mountain biking trails. The town is fun with good places to eat. Its hard to get to, which is the one downside, but if you have the time it is definitely worth the drive.

One of the main attractions along this stretch of road is Hanging Lake, a ...

Keystone is a pretty area, and definitely a haven for the outdoorsy. Skiing and boarding in the winter is possible with a few local mountains, including the aptly named Keystone Mountain. I suspect it is nice for hiking and biking in the summer season, but I have yet to see it during that season.

You must visit South Park if you're coming here, not just because of the show South Park but also because it's an awesome little bit of perfectly restored history and is awesome.

We spent the weekend in Carbondale and the valley. A quaint town with charm and character. Once you get off of Hwy 82 and head towards Main Street the small town feel is evident and appreciated!

BV is a great little town. It may feel like a quick stop along Hwy 285, but visit the South end of town for a newer look and vibe. Great restaurants and brew pubs along with some interesting architecture is popping up.
