I loved this hotel. It only has nine rooms to rent out and this made it a really intimate and friendly place to visit. I also loved all the attention to detail regarding Chilean culture. There were lots of poems by Chilean poets written on the walls and each room was names after a specific place in Chile. I loved the sofa in the room and the plants too. The green really breathed life into the space. I also loved all the outdoor space around the hotel. There were lots of little gardens and patios to sit out on. The lady who worked on reception was a real gem. She know lots about her country and she was really passionate about the fact that Meridiano is a hotel proud of Chile’s culture and heritage. The hotel also has an honesty bar, which reflects the super trusting environment between staff and guests.

It may be a petit hotel, but there's no short shrift of character here. The owners of this hotel seem to want to give you a true taste of Chile while you're here. Poems from Chile's literati have been stenciled onto the walls; each room (all eight of them) has a number, as well as a moniker – named after a Chilean treasure. The fantastic staff offers to help arrange tours or give recommendations for local dining. Rooms are smallish but tidy and comfortable, with a simple and airy design – almost minimalist. It included a small TV built into the wall, air conditioning and WiFi. What really makes this hotel different is its buffet breakfast, which is all-natural. They don't serve meat, and make their own almond milk to go along with breakfast. Breakfast is served in a lovely glassed-in patio. If you're looking for something that offers more character and experience than your standard hotel – and manages to do it affordably, in a great location – this is a great bet.

My first impression of this place is it feels like entering the house of an old friend I lost to the world, and who is now receiving me back with open arms. This small hotel is an island of relaxation. Just seeing its lobby - poetic inspiration on its walls, a small souvenir shop window offering artisan products made of stone and wood, a forest fragrance – make you think of the hands who created it. The pleasant, fresh, seductive rooms not large compared to other hotels, but large enough to be comfortable, unless you're looking for XL. Its downstairs breakfast area faces an open little patio with natural light, and is always available if you fancy tea, coffee, or water, free of charge, or light snacks with modest charges. The white wall is dotted with bright colors in a sophisticated pattern that lifts the spirit.

Creative and inspired is how I can best describe this little 8 room hotel. The M. Sur is modern on a budget. The rooms and spaces are intelligently designed. Poetry on bright white walls accented with deep dark shiny wooden floors, the hotel is simple and interesting. The staff are casual and attentive. I really loved the breakfast nook on its basement floor, its glass walls gave access to light and the Japanese oaks outside. The idea of a hotel being strictly vegetarian is novel and they even make their own almond milk which adds a thoughtful note of being sustainable. No real extra amenities to speak of but they do offer a service to guided tours throughout the city and surrounding towns. I will surely suggest the M. Sur to any and all of my friends or family.
