Cheap food, beer on the beach, drippy tacos, and long sunsets. What could be better? Mexico is the place you go to relax and unwind...or party all night and regret it. I especially love Baja California, where you can camp in the desert and forget your worries at home.

Our neighbor to the south may have a lot of issues, but I keep returning due to the welcoming people, amazing service, and beautiful beach resorts.

A consistently underrated country. Amazing food, beautiful people, mountains, jungle, islands, and beaches that rival any paradise around the world, and a warm and friendly culture. GO HERE!

In Mexico, addresses almost always include (1) a 'colonia' (abbreviated 'Col.')--the neighborhood in which a home is located in any given city, and (2) a 'codigo postal' (abbreviated 'C.P.)--the zip code. For example: Calle Magdalena 321, Col. El Cid, C.P. 64390, Mazatlan, Sin.).

For some reason, Google maps often can't search for a location in Mexico if you add either the colonia or the codigo postal. If you added them, try the search again without either (ie search using just the street address, city, and full state name: Calle Magdalena 321, Mazatlan, Sinaloa).

If that still doesn't work, try searching by just listing the street name and the nearest cross street (plus the city and state). Bucerias is a big enough town that that should work. Obviously it won't be exact, but at least it'll give you an idea where you'll be living!

Description

There are as many versions of a Mexican vacation as there are travelers to Mexico. In southern Mexico you’ll find the well-preserved Mayan ruins of Palenque surrounded by tropical forests and howler monkeys. Beach-seekers will often head to either Baja California or Cancún, where frat kids and AARP cardholders party side by side. For a slightly more mellow experience, check out the Maya Riviera on the Yucatan Peninsula, where Europeans, history buffs and yoga aficionados rub shoulders on their way to visit ancient pyramids, macrobiotic hotels or seafood restaurants on white sandy beaches. Although northern Mexico's cities have earned a grisly reputation as of late, most Mexican cities, including Mexico City, Oaxaca and Guadalajara, are quite safe and cosmopolitan, with world-class restaurants and cultural attractions by the plateful. And we haven't even started with diving in Cozumel, the Pacific resorts of Mazatlan or Puerto Vallarta, the remote desert beauty of Copper Canyon or the colonial elegance of San Miguel de Allende. Wherever you go in Mexico, the hospitable reputation of its people proves true, found in impeccable service in upscale hotels and impromptu Spanish lessons ... read more
