    Tulum Ruins

Riviera Maya Mainland, Cancun, ROO 77500 Mexico
    4.5
    111 reviews

The ruins from Tulum are unique. It was a seaport, trading mainly in turquoise and jade. It is the only Mayan city built on a coast - and this makes it so wunderful. There are lot of lizards taking a sunbath and acting for a photo. If you go there early in the morning, you will enjoy your visit more.

Less crowded than Playa Norte, but only a few steps away. Playa Sol is a bit better for the budget concerned, who are willing to sacrifice slightly clearer waters.

Come here to gaze upon Diego Rivera's incredible murals. These intricate massive paintings show the history of Mexico (both the good and the bad). A highlight of Mexico City that also happens to be free. Getting a guide is recommended as there is so much going on in the murals context helps put it into perspective.
