    Hotel Catedral

    Hotel Catedral

Excellent! - 90% of guests recommend

A strong smell of varnish hit me when I entered the lobby at Hotel Catedral. The hotel is finishing up a complete remodeling, an employee told me.( I was also slightly intimidated by all the people standing around the lobby with walkie talkies and ear pieces.) Still, sleek modern furniture, shiny polished floors and photos of Mexico City’s national cathedral ...

    NH Hotel Centro Historico

    Hotel Class:

Mediocre - 69% of guests recommend

It may not have a flashy name, but the NH is a surprisingly affordable, modern, convenient choice in the heart of Mexico City. The hotel is among the closest to the zócalo, or main square, as well as the city's cathedral, presidential palace, Templo Mayor and other important landmarks. The rooms are small and about what you'd expect from a ...

    Hotel Brick

I felt the same way about this beautiful hotel as I did about the trendy Condesa DF: The extremely high prices prevent me from giving it that fifth star. But, like Condesa DF, this is a great place to stay if you've got the money. The older part of the hotel, located in the upscale Roma district, is built from ...

    Best Western Hotel Majestic

    Hotel Class:
    4
    2 reviews
Mediocre - 67% of guests recommend

I hope I look as good as the Best Western Majestic when I'm 475 years old. That's the age (according to one hotel employee) of this hotel, which may have the best location in Mexico City. Many of the rooms face the zócalo, or main square, looking across the vast plaza at the presidential palace. The building has some exquisite ...

    Hostel 333

    3.5
    3 reviews

If you like a party atmosphere, Hostel 333 is for you. The clerk warns that the place gets noisy at night. On a Monday afternoon, it was peaceful enough, with the scent of incense wafting through the halls. Theo, a black cat with yellow eyes, greeted us and led us to the reception area. We needed the help because the ...

Wonderful old-fashioned hotel in a great location right in the centro historico. Our room seemed a little grim when we arrived at 3am, and switched on the fluorescent overhead light (waaay up near the high, high ceiling), but when we woke up the next morning, it all felt like home. Good firm beds for a cheap place, and excellent housekeeping. ...

In the heart of Mexico City, historic district. This lovely hotel is walking distance from the Zocalo, the cathedral, the national palace and many more historic sites. The ceiling in the lobby is a chef d'oeuvre, a true inspiration of art nouveau.

Magnificent environment with modernist nods to traditional, temple architecture. There are several excellent restaurants, including a rooftop lounge and courtyard. I would recommend that budget wise travelers hail taxis outside of the hotel grounds to save about 50% on fares!

    Hostal 333

Located in the Roma neighborhood, Hostal 333 is a hipster hostal with stark but clean dorms and comfy private rooms, some with en suite bathrooms. There's WiFi, a decent-sized shared kitchen, plus a great rooftop patio where guests typically hang out. The rates are good too--$9-12.50 for dorms, $25-36 for private rooms. Best of all, it's just one block from ...
