Despite being in every tourist guide book this place has managed to preserve much of its character and the interior is a marvel in its own right. Come here for yummy churros which you dip in sticky chocolate,

    Pujol

    4 reviews

I went to Pujol back in March 2013 and I enjoyed the overall experience. I ordered the Chef's menu, which I thought was priced reasonably for a Top 100 restaurant, but was a bit disappointed with the desserts. That said, I would still recommend giving Pujol a shot if you are in DF. Read my complete review at www.iamlatam.com/pujol-mexico-city-mexico/

It's very enjoyable place to go to. They serve good mexican food and of course the typical micheladas. The first floor is open to the outside with a beautiful view on Plaza de las Cibeles ( the mexican one... not the one in Madrid ! )

    El Balcon del Zocalo

    2 reviews

This rooftop terrace restaurant in the Holiday Inn Zócalo has possibly the best views in the city. The breakfast table groans under the load of the ample buffet, and there's a nice lady to prepare eggs al gusto. Hummingbirds (or possibly dragonflies) hover nearby, lending to the peaceful atmosphere. The food is average but more than compensated for by the ...

Great old time Mexican food. They have extra rooms upstairs that can accommodate large parties. We went with a group of 15 and had a wonderful time, some dishes were forgotten (due to large party), but were rectified by the end. Food was excellent!

Amazing lamb barbacoa tacos. Which is lamb cooked slowly over an open fire until it falls off the bone. Put into a taco with a glass of fresh squeezed organ and its probably the best breakfast you'll ever eat.

Amazing shrimp and fish tacos. Go up to the front order and then put on your own toppings next. The fish and shrimps are lightly battered and served on delicious tortillas. Grab an ice cold beer and table outside. We ate here 3 different times in 4 days it was so good.

Old school Mexican cafe. Great for lunch or breakfast while sightseeing in the Central Historic district. Definitely try the cafe con leche and the enchiladas.
