Located in the South western part of Uganda near the border with Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo, Mugahinga National Park is famous for gorillas. There are different other activities that you ca do here including tracking rare golden Monkeys, taking a hike to the volcanoes or even visiting the Batwa community.

Mgahinga is well known for golden monkey tracking, gorilla viewing and volcano hiking. The park also offers a cultural tour call "Batwa Trail" that gives you insight into the life of the batwa forest peoples

I've gone gorilla trekking twice - once here and once in Rwanda. Both were among the most amazing experiences of my life. The guides at both parks were beyond excellent and so dedicated. The biggest bonus at Mgahinga is the trails. They're very well maintained and all the clients that I have sent in there have had a fairly easy hike to find the gorillas whereas Bwindi and Volcanoes tend to require much harder and longer treks.

Description

There are only two places to see mountain gorillas in Uganda and this, the extension of the Rwanda's Virunga Volcanoes National Park, is one. In addition to gorilla trekking, visitors can also summit one of three mountains, visit a historical cave, take a guided birding expedition, or hike one of many trails.
