I have worked for Miami Juice for a couple months now. I have never worked somewhere so terrible. The customers are all very picky, but I can take it as part of my job, not a problem for me at all; but it's another story when you don't even feel comfortable at your work place. Why, you ask?
    MJ BRINGS THE DIFFERENCE
    -TIME TO GO HOME
When the restaurant is ready to close down, the owner, Issac, basically tries to shove the remaining guests out the door.
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU LEAVE A 10% TIPS OR LESS ?
Issac will explain to his guests that you are abusing his employees, and you must leave at least 18% tip.

Sounds like he cares a lot about his employees right? :-) no he doesn't :-) Mj's system for servers is that every server has to do a tip share at the end of shift. Here is the formula: for example your sales are $1000 per night, a 7% tip out comes from those sales. So out of $1000 sale per shift, you can get approximately $150 +- (-$70 ( its 7% out of $1000) and you are making $80, which your sales are normally less than $1000 to begin with. Do you get your money the same day? - no, next day, if the guy who manages money works next day. You will ask where does the 7% go? - I don't know!!! Who knows? - no one knows. In the employee manual it says that the servers have to tip out the foodrunner, busser, juicebar stuff.. but more than 50% of that staff is not getting their tips. When one night i asked Bonita (Issac's wife) where the 7% go, like how much of the percentage is the busser and foodrunner getting, she was very aggressive and rude and said she doesn't know if i have any questions i can read the employee manual or call her attorney. When i asked her to print me a copy because i had lost my manual, she said that its not her problem, and she is not going to waist her money and paper to print another. I offered to pay for the paper, but she still did not agree. It was such a simple question and in order to get an answer i have to call her attorney? -heh strange!!! Also servers are not allowed to get a copy of their cash-out slip, which is also really weird :-). Issac has been sued by his employees multiple times and he keeps playing with fire.
    - DOGS ARE ALLOWED INSIDE.
Are dogs allowed in FL restaurants (inside the building) - no. Are dogs allowed in MJ ( inside the building)- yes, why not, its just a dog, and if he is thirsty you can give him some water from the cup that people drink, and feed him from the peoples plate, not a problem at all.
    -SAVE A PENNY
No one is allowed to charge a phone in Mj. Why? - Because Issac doesn't want to pay for the electricity you are using, also there is a chance u can broke an outlet!!!!
-ARE ALL JUICES FRESH MADE? - NO
Most of the juices are fresh made, like orange, green power, B52, but for most smoothies concentrated juices are used. Why?- because they are cheaper.
_ DO YOU LIKE TO HAVE EXPIRED STUFF? - Mj IS WAITING FOR YOU!!!!!
Once i had a complaint from my customer that their protein shakes from the cooler were expired. I tried to notify Issac that some stuff in the cooler was not good anymore. He said- So what? He knows is not good and he doesn't care. What about those bottle dressings? Most of them are expired also:-). In Mj ALWAYS check the expiration day.
P.S. for some reason one of the trash cans is on top of an unsealed box with linens for roll ups.
    - BRING YOUR KID TO MJ
If you feel like your kid didn't cry for a while, and it's just right time, than bring him (or her) to Mj. Issac has his own way to treat kids. His first phrase is " Whats up monkey?" . Really, monkey??? Do you see yourself, you're the one who looks like a monkey, not those cute kids!!!!
-DOES ISSAC HAVE ANY MANNERS? - I'M NOT SURE
Once i was in the parking lot in my car before my shift, when Issac came to me and said: "hey Nikita, park your car next to other cars." Well first of all my name is Tanya not Nikita ( for all the employees he has his own names. If you are Russian speaking -you are Nikita, if you are Spanish speaking, than you are Chiuaua, how lovely.) What about Hello, how are you today, could you please park you car over there? Even strangers use that form of communication:-)
    -HOW TO COMMUNICATE WITH ISSAC?
If Issac is telling you something, all you have to say is: ok, yes, correct, absolutely. What will happen if you give a different answer?- you will get suspended for a couple days to a month effective next day.
    -THE WAY TO GO
It was one of those crazy days in MJ. I was taking an order from a customer when my coworker told me in front of the guest : " go f...k yourself!" , I notified Bonita. After the shift she asked me and Jose ( my rude coworker from the juicebar) to come in to the office. She made me at fault of everything. I think if you are guy that worked there for 5 years or more, that's not the way to to talk to your co-workers in front of customers.

Good quality fresh food. Tuna platter with rice and avocado, one of the many good choices. If you sit on the bar, you might get the leftovers of the juices they prepare...there you go, one big saver!!

Another Sunny Isles classic, Miami Juice has been serving freshly squeezed juices, smoothies, salads, sandwiches etc. for over a decade. Located at 18660 Collins Avenue, this local restaurant is an excellent option for light breakfast, lunch or dinner Monday through Saturdays from 8am to 9pm.
