This wonderful zoo is home to over 1,200 plants and 2,000 animals, and is sure to pack an entire day of fun into your Miami trip! For families with your kids, they even have a Children’s Zoo within the park. The newest exhibit to open soon is Mission: Everglades, which will take a closer look at the vast grasslands that are home to many native Florida animals.

With a famously sunny climate pretty much year-round, Florida is the ideal place for an expansive zoo. Located in Maimi, the Miami MetroZoo is the biggest and longest running zoo in the state. The attractions here are mostly open air, thanks to the weather, making for easy viewing of most of the many animals here. Rare creatures from Asia, Africa and Australia thrive in this setting like they do at no other zoo in America. With all the fancy attractions Florida has to offer, it's easy to scoff at and pass over a simple zoo. However, just like these elaborate attractions, the Miami MetroZoo is truly a step or two above the mundane. Don't miss it!
