Michael's Genuine features a farm-to-table dining experience that is signature to local celebrity chef Michael Schwartz. It's locate din the heart of the Design District, and Michael's was one of the first spots to open in the area, long before the area became a shopping destination. Michael's food is simple but his pairings are complex. Try the crispy rice cake, with chorizo, rock shrimp and a gooey egg on top. and definitely don't skip dessert, pastry chef Hedy Goldsmith is equally talented.Recommended for:

Wow. Amazing entrees and desserts! Although it's a bit out of the way from the main South Beach area, this visit for lunch was worth it! Everything is delicious and flavorful. Atmosphere is modern and trendy.Recommended for:

From the Reviewer's Bible.
Something the Lord Made (for his Sweet Tooth)
On this warm, sunny, and beautiful Thursday the Lord's faithful servant, Richard K, had this undeniable craving for something sweet. His sweet tooth was in dire need of something delicious and full of sugar.
Richard K was befuddled with all the options and at that moment, the Lord whispered, "Michael's Genuine, its my fabulous lunch spot". The faithful servant thought what a lovely suggestion, so off he went with his lunch date.
As they were sitting, both patrons noticed the top notch decor and attentive service. Richard K noticed the server had an Australian accent and thought the accent made this restaurant a little more classier especially when they start saying those tongue twisting culinary terms.
The two of them decided to share a Shitake Mushroom Pizza and a Tangerine Creamsicle Pot De Creme with Donuts for dessert.
As the servant bit into the pizza, he noticed the overall light and lovely flavors that came with each bite into his pizza. After devouring his share, Richard K sat antsy and giddy for dessert. In the distance, he saw it coming and his eyes opened with excitement and mouth watered like a dog (according to women that is a synonym for men, so I guess it works).
The first bite of the Tangerine Creamsicle Pot De Creme went into the faithful servant's mouth and pure bliss ensued. The doughnut consisted of sweet, warm goodness and the combination of the doughnut mixed with the tangerine creamsicle and jelly made for very interesting explosions of flavor in his mouth.
After licking the plate clean, Richard K whispered to his lunch date, "This must be something the Lord made". As they were walking away, the Lord chatted with the Australian waiter and said, "I can see why my faithful servant thought that, I did teach Michael's how to cook".

This place has a fantastic and diverse menu with things like wood fired pizza, crispy skate wing, Fried pork belly with watermelon and so much more and somehow I ended up settling on a pulled pork sandwich. It was good with it's combination of cucumber but I sure wish I would've tried something new and exciting. Oh well It's not like I can get a good pulled pork sandwich anywhere else except this place! LOL
