While "Midtown" is a blanket term for everything that isn't downtown or uptown in Manhattan, this neighborhood's boundaries are generally understood to be from the streets numbered in the low thirties to Central Park South. Midtown is Manhattan's central business district, and as a result the majority of skyscrapers lie within its borders. It boasts famous buildings such as the Empire State and the Chrysler Building and is home to a litany of big-name hotels, department stores, and tourist hotspots. This neighborhood may be filled with corporate headquarters, crammed streets, skyscrapers, and honking horns, but it also hosts an endless number of residents and visitors and a vibe that's filled with life and distinctly NYC.

Although it has many of Manhattan's signature monuments and is home to the theater district, Midtown's charm is overpowered by suits and concrete. See the monuments, grab a show, and go to the big name department stores but save your stomach and liver for the rest of the city.

Some people scoff at Midtown, that it's not the hippest or most fashionable part of town. But I love it. It's classic Manhattan. So much of what the city is known for is here - the Empire State Building, the Waldorf Astoria, Rockefeller Center, the UN! Sure, you may spot a celebrity in Soho or feel more fashionable in the Village, but you'll see the Big Apple here in Midtown!

Exciting, unique city, never to be missed. Photo taken just after a shower, rain water pouring out of the girl's cheek!
