The Milner is an appropriate choice for backpackers or travelers on a shoestring budget. It's right in the Bay Village, on the fringes of both Back Bay and Chinatown. Not my favorite area, I'll admit, but convenience-wise, it's not too bad of a spot. It's within walking distance to the gardens/commons, Copley and Newbury Street, and there are a number of T stops nearby. The property itself, however, is dark, musty and cramped. I also found the staff a bit grumpy. The place is in serious need of a refresh.

The Milner Hotel definitely has lots of character. Tucked away in a quiet corner by Tufts Medical Center, this rustic hotel has an eerie feel that was caused by the cramped walls and quietness of the lobby and hallways. Even a small café resides in a dark corner of the lobby that I didn’t dare step in. As I walked down the hallway, I breathed a small sigh of relief as the bedrooms allowed some room to breathe. Each room comes with standard A/C, television, and Wi Fi access. If you're not scared easily, the Milner Inn is an affordable option that’s a stone’s throw away from Boston’s Chinatown.
A daily continental breakfast buffet with complimentary coffee is included in all bookings. The Milner also offers free, high-speed internet in its public areas. Concierge and laundry services are also available.
This five-story hotel houses 64 recently refurbished guestrooms. While a standard twin is typically meant for a single guest, larger rooms can generally accommodate between 2 and 6 guests. All rooms are equipped with cable tv, telephones with data ports, alarm clocks, iron and iron boards, in-room air control, and private baths.
