Situated on the bank of the Moskva River, this contemporary arts center was one of the largest Russian cinemas. Completed in 1931, it was where prominent films were shown to Soviet elite. In the 1990s, it was converted into a Casino and now it's a contemporary arts centre -- in 2012 it hosted its first exhibition. It's paradoxically full of classy, cultured works sprawled out over a fading checkered rug. The building is full of both history and forward thinking art.
