Great for groups of three or more when food is the common passion and intimate sharing is the mood. I say intimate because your forks might clink while nabbing your share. Located in The Village Sanlitun, this contemporary twist and fusion on tapas serves all types of appetites.
The food is GOOD. Crispy pork belly, scallops stacked on mini polenta cakes, smoke-flavoured langoustines served with chorizo and garbanzos, a peppery foie gras terrine served with two dollops of seasonal compotes, and my personal favorite finish of cardamom creme brulée are just a few of my favorite things on their tempting yet not intimidating menu. The vegetarian might go hungry or cave in and convert.
Winning 2011 Best Wine Experience in Time Out Beijing's food awards, Modo is easy for the wine-curious. Purchase a pre-paid card and taste mini to mighty pours from their Enomatic 16-bottle wine dispenser.
The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating and can handle large parties. This means of course, better sharing.
