I think every visit to The City should include a visit to MoMa. Rotating exhibits are awesome - I usually take that in first, and depending on the time, add in some of the permanent collection. One recent visit included the tremendously enjoyable Magritte collection followed by some Jackson Pollock, Jasper Johns and Warhol. 4th floor windows overlooking the sculpture garden offers great photo ops of the skyline as an extra bonus. Member benefits may make joining more cost effective if there is more than two in your party.

Has to be the most impressive collection of modern art in the United States (if not the world). Definitely a must see for any visitor to New York City. The challenge here is to digest the collection without being too overwhelmed. The museum is immense and the collection is incredibly diverse. My recommendation is to visit multiple times and to focus on a different area of the museum during each visit.
The museum's specialty is American modern art but there is something here for everyone and the collection is certainly global. A great place to actually see those signature pieces that you've seen in textbooks, magazines, and websites for years.
Even if you don't like audio tours, do yourself a favor and pick up an ear piece for this one. You'll get more out of the visit and you can choose to opt in only on those pieces or rooms that you want to explore in more detail. MoMA also has a great iPhone ap that you can use as you tour the collection.

One of the must-visit museumes in US, possibly in the world. Great collection, inspirational interior (and exterior). Check out there website for the special deal. It was free on Friday evening when I was there. They run a weekly special entree-rate for the art lovers.

The lovely Museum of Modern Art, also known as MoMA. is where modern art lovers should dwell. You can see both quirky modern designs, as well as great works of the past. I was mostly interested in seeing Romanian born Constantin Brancusi’s work, exhibited on the fifth floor. Unlike popular belief, he was Romanian that acquired French citizenship. Due to the Communist regime in our shared native Romania, he mostly resided in France.
For pop art fans, there are several pieces of the late Andy Warhol. As far as technology goes, you will be surprised by some of the early Macintosh computers. Although I am not the biggest fan of contemporary modern art, I would never say no to the exquisite paintings of Picasso, Dali, Van Gogh and Frida Kahlo; the pieces exhibited in MOMA almost took me back to the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid.
Tickets: Skip the regular $25 ticket for free admission during Target Free Friday Nights, held every Friday evening from 4:00 to 8:00pm. Go early, the lines get quite long.

MoMA has a very impressive collection of modern art. Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night is permanently based here as well as Pablo Picasso's Three Musicians and many other famous art works.Recommended for

MOMA houses one of the world's great modern art collections. Living in London has rather spoiled my taste for paying twenty dollars to get into a museum (as they are all free here) but MOMA is surely one of the times it's absolutely worth every penny. Rothkos, Picassos, and a generally exhaustive collection of 20th century art await. After seeing all the inspiring art, you can check out the design store and take home some wacky, high-end placemats, fruit bowls, or pencil holders.

I belong here and support it. It's a great Museum amid they are constantly running different exhibitions. Some I love...some to avant garde for me. The collection includes a lot f great Pop Art and works by the greats. They also run a film series. Recently they ran all the James Bond flicks which was awesome. When it's nice out check out the sculpture garden

great way to pass a few hours in Manhattan, it's a beautiful museum which gives a good look on art from the beginning of the 1900s till today, and even I, who's not so keen about art in general, enjoyed it thoroughly. The only thing missing from the art collection, was graffiti.
Great for going with kids.
I'll definitely come back next time.Recommended for
