Very interesting, from pictures I had seen I somehow assumed the painting was in a small narrow room but it wasn't all the crowds just make it look that way. It was a big room and full of people for sure but not too tightly packed. I was able to get up to the front and the guards even help people come out the front if they get stuck in all the people clamoring for a shot of the famous painting.

Okay, the Mona Lisa may be an amazing piece of art and world famous. But there's always such a huge crowd in front of it and it's definitely not much fun to get squashed here.

When visiting the Louvre, you have to see the Mona Lisa. It has inspired many stories, a couple robberies and countless artists. Sure, it's a hassle to elbow your way to get a good view, but that's better than coming home and telling countless people you missed out!

It's the most famous painting in the world. So it has very high security and you can't go right up to it either. You couldn't initially anyways as the crowd to see it up close is absolutely ridiculous! It makes you realise how much you hate other people, but nevertheless, it is an experience seeing the painting and will be one to remember. Also it's a lot smaller than you think too!!

One of the world's most famous paintings. It is certainly a masterpiece, though perhaps a bit overhyped. It is always surrounded by a crowd of tourists, and a giant glass box, so it is hard to really look and enjoy this piece of art. Take a quick look so you can say you saw it and move on to other less famous exhibits in the LouvreRecommended for:Art & Design Lovers

It's not the Mona Lisa's fault. Kind of like Stairway to Heaven can be robbed of all of its power and beauty by its own iconic status and sound a bit like the National Anthem, the Mona Lisa is an image that I cannot view objectively as a painting and trying to do so through a crowd of people and bullet proof glass doesn't help matters.

If you want a view, get here first thing in the morning or be prepared to fight through a crowd of tourists and their cameras. The painting is smaller than most people expect and it seems like half the city is constantly in the roped off area clamoring for a view.

Get ready for a swarm and a bit of a disappointment. Mona is a lot smaller than most people realize. She's also in a slightly recessed mounting, guarded by a velvet rope and a guard who hustles people out of the way in about 10-second increments. They'll say no photos allowed, as well, but most people take them, anyway. Honestly, there is SO much more to see in the Louvre that, despite her infamy, Mona Lisa is just not that interesting.

The Mona Lisa, what hasn't been said about her. If it is your first time seeing it, snap a few pics and move on. There are usually always huge crowds that surround her and there are even more magnificent things to see in the Louvre!!
