    Fast Eddy's Billiards

0.44 mi from Monarch Butterfly Trail
    1 review

Two floors of pool tables, a full bar and a rockin good time are what you'll find at Fast Eddy's. Happy hour is 4-6:30pm every night with a decent selection of beers on tap. The atmosphere inside is rather dark and pub-like, but in no way do you ever feel closed in. The place exudes lots of local character and ...

Limited in size, marginal surf, this beach adds to the aesthetic appeal of Capitola but offers no enticement of its own.

    Steamer Lane

4.28 mi from Monarch Butterfly Trail
    36 reviews

This place is pure magic when the waves are breaking. The visual is just stunning. I've never actually surfed in Steamer Lane but I watched a WQS event there in 2009 and the waves were just insane, 10+ ft. Beautiful and scary at the same time.

    Mystery Spot

3.93 mi from Monarch Butterfly Trail
    41 reviews

If you know your physics you'll realize there is nothing special about this place. It's a mystery spot because well... people who come here don't realize it's on the slant of a hill. Else, this place is quite fun for the family. Enjoy!

    Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf

3.8 mi from Monarch Butterfly Trail
    23 reviews

Great place to take your date or go for a walk. This Wharf is built for tourists obviously, so parking as well as the restaurants are fairly expensive. If you want you can also fish off the pier and word has it that you can make quite a catch.

    Santa cruz surfing Museum

4.33 mi from Monarch Butterfly Trail
    21 reviews

Don't waste your time coming here just for that, but if you are in the area you can hop in for a few minutes (it's only one small room). It's free, but it's not open all the time. Other than that, the museum is located in a great spot to watch the surfers under the cliff. it's also close to ...

    West Cliff Drive

4.48 mi from Monarch Butterfly Trail
    13 reviews

This is the spot for a lazy drive, but even better for a afternoon/sunset walk. If the swell is up check out the rippers at steamers, and end at either cowells or natural bridges for a dip in the water.

I'm not much of a rollercoaster fan, but the Giant Dipper is pretty darn fun. It's a bit smaller than most, which makes it less frightening for those not fond of heights.

    Lighthouse Point Park

4.33 mi from Monarch Butterfly Trail
    11 reviews

You can see this park at the end of our street. It fronts the ocean and is lovely to walk through...although not much of a destination in and of itself. Beautiful to walk through on the way to the beach or West Cliff Drive. Often see hawks there. Birding enthusiasts flock to this park periodically. Also a Monarch "resting area."
