I love the Monte Carlo. I pick this over the mirage any day. It's closer to where I wanna be, they house the blue man group and jabbawockeez, Andre's restaurant was one of my first fine dining experiences, and they have dragon baccarat.

Monte Carlo is an affordable hotel in near the center of the Las Vegas Strip. This hotel had been renovation few years ago, pump the hotel class from 3 1/2 stars to 4 stars. It located north of New York New York and next to Aria.
Parking structure is easy in this hotel; you can easily access to the self-parking lot and can walk to the hotel in few minutes of walk. The parking escalator was fill with cigarette smell; I did not bother going back then.
The hotel room elevator is located across the lobby, the nice thing you do not need walks by the casino. The room's elevators are separate by three different floors level. That was good-crowed control. Our group came just right before the standard check in time 3pm in Sunday. There has was about 20 peoples in the line, took about half hours before it was our turn. The clerk was helpful and we were able to get a high floor level as we request. The view was the city center (Aria, Vdara and the pool) It was good view despite this just a basic room. At top of that our 2 booked room were together and also in a corner. You would always wanted corner room if want peace in Zzz.
The room is modern; there is a big 42-inch flat screen. However, sadly the channel were not in HD, make it look worse than SD. One of the room amenities included 2 K-Cup Coffee Pack and two water bottles. Those were included with the resort fee, which cost almost $23. I wish there is Wi-Fi in the room, only wired is available. To use Wi-Fi has to go down to lounge level. The room was clean and everything was functional. The bed and the pillow were very soft, perhaps more than the way I like it. I had trouble sleep with the bed had to take another night to get used to it.
Their casino floor is modern as well; I was impress with their sport betting room. Look more modern than five star hotel like Wynn. The smell of the cigarette is not strong in the casino floor, unlike some other casino I been to. There is free tram access to Crystal Center, Aria, and Bellagio. I do not know they cannot link the tram to Excalibur, so it can access to the southern strip.
Overall, this is good hotel consider the affordable price. You are only paying half or one third cost of nearby 4 or 5 stars hotel. While is still in a decent near center strip location. This hotel can be good choice for family or those who want some peace after some crazy night in club and other activities.Recommended for:Budget Travelers

Check out the Minus 5 Ice Bar within the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino. Featured on Travel Channel, this bar completely made of ice (ice bar, ice drinking glasses, ice seats, ice tables, ice luge, ice sculptures, etc.) is a must see! Hanging out in an ice cave bar in the middle of desert is a surreal experience. It's a small intimate bar experience like no other. The staff is great and everyone at the bar was really friendly. Bummer #1, it's pretty pricey: Admission is $17/plus tax into the bar. You can purchase drinks inside the bar or purchase their other packages such as the one for $37/plus tax which includes admission and 2 drink tickets, or one of their VIP packages for either $55+tax or $75+tax. Regular admission includes a parka and gloves while the VIP package you get a faux fur coat upgrade and a Russian hat that you get to keep. Bummer #2: (equally for their own marketing and promotion) they DO NOT allow cameras/camera phones in the bar… they make you put them in a locker. Their photog takes pictures and you can purchase them for like $20 each. Regardless of the expenses, anything this innovative is worth the effort. P.s. there is also another Minus 5 Ice Bar at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Vegas. The Mandalay Bay location is open an hour later than the one at Monte Carlo.

Back when Monte Carlo was new, we stayed here a lot. The prices were always good, and it's a clean hotel, with not a lot of bells and whistles and therefore always reasonable rate.
Fast forward many years. Monte Carlo has pretty much been forgotten in my books... I mean, now that it's right next door to City Center, I may swing by (it does have a good steak house according to reviews), but without a theme there's not really much need to visit.

Very nice atmosphere and the staff was also great and very helpful. The pool seemed to be a bit small but the perk of this hotel was the ice bar that's something I've always wanted to experience

The Monte Carlo is one of the older hotels near the center of the Strip. The rooms are bland compared to those of Aria, but still pretty comfortable. You can get good deals on rooms at the Monte Carlo with the M Life Player's Card (good at also Mandalay Bay, Bellagio, and Aria, just to name a few) if you are looking to save a little bit of money on the room accomodations.

I've stayed here several times, nightly rates usually in the $50s. The rooms were a little outdated and could use some remodeling, especially to keep up with the newer hotels. The room itself was okay but I was not fond of the bathroom at all. It really needs a face lift. The hotel is conveniently located and there are lots of different places to eat in the hotel. Room service was good, and the staff were great.
Overall it's decent but not the best hotel in LV. I stay here when I need to.

Monte Carlo's offers visitors a number of exciting foodie experiences. Sign up for M life Moments, the loyalty program of all MGM properties, and you'll be eligible to register for the Monte Carlo's Mixology Training and Tasting course. The hotel also features Gus' Beer and Bites, where a new brewery is invited every month to pair beer with Executive Chef Tim Radigan's upscale pub food.Recommended for:Foodies

Monte Carlo is a good value for the money but nothing about it really stands out. I think the best way to describe it is "pretty nice." The rooms are pretty nice, the pool is pretty nice, the restaurants are pretty nice, the casino is pretty nice -- pretty nice, but unremarkable. I don't have anything bad to say about my stay here but I don't have anything great to say either. For the price, I expect that's good enough.
