    Cafe Brasil

    20 reviews

Head to this lovely Brazilian restaurant for breakfast or lunch...but get there before 3 p.m. when they close! The always-busy spot offers traditional Brazilian cuisine, and even sweet treats like açaí with granola and banana. There's even a few shelves of preserves made from guava and other tropical fruits.

    Betty Burgers

    10 reviews

This is a great place for a great burger in Santa Cruz. They have a unique menu and no hormone/no antibiotic beef. You can get your burger on a lettuce wrap or a gluten free bun if you desire. I also love the fries here - thin and crispy. I haven't tried the shakes, but they look delicious and it's ...

    East Village Coffee Lounge

    2 reviews

My favorite pit stop for caffeine in downtown Monterey. Free Wi-Fi, live events at night, comfily bedraggled chairs for lounging around in during the day, and strong espresso drinks all make it a winner. The pastry case is also mighty tempting, although a bakery just a block away makes croissants I'd rather spring for.

    Marianne's Ice Cream

    21 reviews

Triple scoop of ice cream in a waffle cone is what this little petite girl got. I have no clue how on earth I was able to devoured the ice cream after my big dinner, but I did. I had Heaven, Banana Almond Fudge, and Pumpkin which all tasted delicious. Absolutely give huge scoop of ice cream and the price ...

Tasty and affordably priced, Passionfish is a popular destination for those in-the-know about seafood restaurants in Monterey. Located along the freeway, parking isn't too difficult (park along the road), and you get some nice views. Service is friendly. It's not as fancy as I thought it would be, but I had a decent time.

    The Penny Ice Creamery

Delicious ice cream. Daily selection is limited so need to go with the flow. A memorable favorite of mine is their barley ice cream as I was surprised by how good it was. After waiting in the long line outside you deserve a double scoop!

    Casanova Restaurant

    12 reviews

Great restaurant in Carmel. Probably my favorite one. There is a Belgian flag on the outside of the restaurant. From the main entrance, it almost looks like you are walking into a tiny cottage in Belgium or Holland. The seafood is fantastic here. I wouldn't say this is a splurge but definitely pricey.

    Duarte's Tavern

    13 reviews

Good food, good location. The wait can be over a hour. Fortunately, they do take reservations. Holds a special place in my heart as this was the first restaurant I took my daughter to, just the two of us. At about 18 months old she was the perfect little lady. Had a great day. There is a fantastic goat cheese ...

    Walnut Avenue Cafe

Freezing my buns off waiting to be seated for brunch on a gloomy Sunday was so worth it. However, being sick the next day and coughing like a maniac was not the business. We sat at the best spot in the house with a window view of the street and panoramic view of the restaurant. This makes me happy because ...

    El Palomar Restaurant

    9 reviews

This is the place for chile verde lovers who like a little spiciness. Be sure to ask for some homemade corn tortillas to go with this house specialty. It is not unusual to wait for a table. Just expect it to be noisy and have a great time.

    Carmel Belle

I cannot express how much I enjoyed my meal here. I had the roasted mushroom melt which included poached eggs, chives, truffle oil, roasted mushrooms and toast. So simple, yet so delicious! The restaurant is nothing fancy -- it sits in the open courtyard area of a small shopping plaza in downtown Carmel, you order at the counter and they ...
