Perfectly located right in the center of town, everything seems walking distance. Rooms are clean, and there are fun people working there down to go out and show off the town. http://hostelmontrealcentral.com/

Le Germain was a trend setter in the Montreal boutique hotel world, and it continues to maintain its attraction. This was the first hotel I went to that offered the free apples in the lobby, and complimentary branded bottles of water. The lobby is a relaxing environment with plush leather sofas, a fireplace and just beyond the concierge desk is ...

This really is a cute little boutique hotel. Offering an artsy feel and open concept, Hotel Gault offers something a little different. Though a smaller hotel with only 30 rooms, they certainly didn’t leave out anything a guest might desire. The Gault restaurant which is integrated into the lobby only serves breakfast and lunch services, but guests can still order ...

The old port of montreal has many hotels to choose from. But if you are brand loyal and need a place by the port to collect your marriot reward points then this would be the place to go. Really loved this hotel. The constant Groupon deals from the hotel makes it extremely affordable (around $50 a night), located right at the heart of Montreal. The staff is so friendly and vibrant. The breakfast is delicious with lots of options and a relatively big dining area for a B&B. The rooms can be small - one time the tub ...

The hotel staff was very friendly. The hotel itself is a little run-down and outdated for a Starwood. We were expecting it to be a bit nicer. That being said, it was very clean and in a great location!

The Vogue as far as luxury hotels goes is ok. Having seen a lot of hotels, I personally like to see something different, especially from a 5 star hotel, and although the service offerings at the Vogue do encompass all the niceties, the hotel itself lacks that special something that makes it stand out in my mind. Although the lobby ...

If you're looking for a functional hotel that pushes all of the buttons (location, affordability, basic services), then the Hotel Maritime Plaza pretty much fits the bill. It's also got an indoor pool (so no matter what the weather is doing, you can still don a swimsuit), and it's super close to the Underground City and St. Catherine Street. There's ...

Montreal Hotel Insider Guide
Although it is one of the largest cities in North America (and the second largest in Canada), tourists and residents alike appreciate that Montreal maintains its small-town feel. Located on an island in the St. Lawrence river, Montreal is known not only for its scenic vistas but also for its innovative architecture, beautiful churches, fascinating culture, and, of course, its hockey. With tourism as a backbone of the economy, Montreal makes visiting easy, and hotels ranging from high-end to simple and inexpensive are available to meet any traveler’s needs and budget.

Luxury Hotels
In Montreal, the more luxurious hotels tend to be concentrated in historic Old Montreal or by the scenic St. Lawrence river, and most boast fabulous views. At all of the upscale hotels in Montreal, visitors can expect friendly service, classy rooms, and a delectable on-site restaurant. At the Hotel Nelligan, visitors will stay in a quaint neighborhood located in the heart of Old Montreal, with fun shops and bistros right around the corner. Be sure to check out the 24-hour gym and the beautiful rooftop terrace bar. Another option is the Aubuerge De Vicx-Port. This deluxe hotel looks over the breathtaking St. Lawrence River. Here you'll find charming rooms with a more homey feel than other luxury hotels. In contrast to the previous two hotels' vintage cobblestone, brick building, and wood-burning fireplace feel, the Sofitel Montreal hotel is modern and chic. The colorful rooms have been recently updated, and the location is perfect if you have plans to visit McGill University.

Affordable Hotels
Montreal has numerous hotel deals available for those with a smaller budget. Not only are they inexpensive, but Montreal hostels also provide a communal way to meet people from all over the world. Hosteling International is close to Concordia University, the Museum of Fine Arts, and the Bell Centre. Another plus is the free Wi-Fi and included breakfast. A trendier option is the affordable LHotel located in between the convention center and the Notre-Dame Basilica, making this an ideal spot for those in town on business or for sightseeing. LHotel is especially unique because of its many displays of modern art from artists like Andy Warhol and Chagall.

Attractions
Visitors won't be a loss for things to do while visiting Montreal. Mount Royal, the Montreal Biodome, and the Botanical Gardens are some of the most popular attractions in the area. If you're an outdoorsy person, hiking to the top of Mount Royal should be at the top of your to-do list. Following the few hour hike to the top, pack a picnic and enjoy a well deserved view of the city at Mount Royal. The Hotel Omni Mont Royal, the Sofitel Montreal, and Le St-Martin are all upscale options near the base, while the Ambrose Hotel is a more affordable option nearby.
