I absolutely loved this hotel. Originally built as a book factory in the 1920s, it’s kept some of its history’s caché, as evidenced by the black and white image of factory women at work behind the lobby’s main desk. The Art Deco style lends it an elegant and edgy appeal. The rooms are incredibly spacious and beautifully decorated. And on top of that, the staff is fantastic. When I first walked in, the young receptionist was playing with her little brother (he couldn’t have been more than 5), so both gave me a tour of the place, a sweet touch that made the place all the more endearing to me. There is no restaurant, but you can order food from Aldo’s next door, a gourmet restaurant with a great reputation in the neighborhood.Recommended for:

When you enter Moreno Hotel has a lot of character, and though it looks a bit dark as soon as you enter, it's really pleasant and comfortable. The artsy chandelier in the lobby/reception area definitely caught my attention, and the stained glass windows are a nice touch. The hotel exudes calm and everything about it is big and feels spacious. My favorite thing was the terrace, which has amazing panoramic views of Buenos Aires and comfortable chairs and sofas you can use to enjoy the view.Recommended for:

I loved the way velvet dominated the furnishings. There were large prints of famous artworks on the walls and over-sized items of furniture placed at reception. Everything was so eye-catching that I had to try out the sofas immediately (they were like something out of Tim Burton’s version of Alice in Wonderland) and get up close with the artwork hanging on the walls. The room was so big! There was so much space. I couldn’t get my head around just how much space there was, particularly for the price they were charging. I really loved the old-style, iron-gated lift too - an original feature, without an doubt. There were beautiful stained-glass windows which the receptionist (who was wonderfully friendly) told me were also original features of the building. I was more than happy with the bundles of character, but the huge roof terrace was the cherry on the cake.Recommended for:

We came here after getting a good deal on expedia. We were debating between this place and a cheaper place, but this one won because it looked full of character and had a rooftop jacuzzi. Indeed, it was full of character - chicly designed, a vintage elevator, large and comfortable rooms. On top of that, the staff was friendly and helpful at every turn. We left delighted that we stayed there but with two complaints: one, the rooftop jacuzzi was empty. They would fill it for you, but only between 8 and 5 - not really the hours you want to use it. The last day we did have them fill it, and it was barely lukewarm (and not very full!). This really was a forgettable problem, but our second complaint bothered us more. We were meeting a friend in town and asked when we arrived if we could make calls without charge from the room; the receptionist said yes. Four days later, as we checked out, we were surprised to find almost $40 USD in phone call charges on our bill! We had been charged $1.70 USD a minute for our calls. They explained that they were sorry but that of course there was a cost to call out from the room, and that there was a card by the room phone explaining that, and that we must have misheard the receptionist. We were shocked, and they were apologetic, but they said they couldn't change the charge. It was a big bummer because otherwise our experience at the hotel was terrific.Recommended for:
