    Medina of Marrakesh

    29 reviews

Compared to the medinas in Fez and other cities, I found this one a little too touristy and manufactured. I really didn't like the snake charmers and monkey trainers; it is animal abuse on display. If you're in Morocco and want a real medina experience, save it for a different city.

Highly atmospheric, with broad range of goods for sale. Some absolute tat, some carefully crafted handicrafts - the trick is finding the unusual, and then a salesman who is not hellbent on highway robbery! Good fun.

    16 reviews

One of the must-sees when you're in Marrakech. This garden is a real oasis, especially considering the area of town it's in (not the prettiest!). Even on the hottest day, it seems to stay cool inside, with many little pathways and quiet places to sit, and the cafe there is wonderful.
