The 2nd highest natural point of Auckland. Initially I have my reservations in going up as it seems like there are nothing much to do up there but my view changed slightly after being there. It's true that there are nothing much to do there but the view is pretty nice so I have quite enjoyed my time there.

Not to be confused with the Las Vegas hotel, Circus Circus here is a restaurant. Come for food or dessert. I had the creme brulee. Good taste, comes hot, and leaves you quite filled. Other good dishes are the avocado sandwich and any type of cheesecake.

L&F is a cozy little cafe around the corner from a Newmarket gas station. Try the sheperd's pie - can be a little messy but otherwise pretty good!

Sometimes you just crave some curry or something spicy and ethnic. Satya fulfills that craving very nicely. I went here with a huge group of family members from India, the Middle East and the US and they are all very critical of Indian food and they loved it so much that they forced us to come back. Fabulous dining on the Viaduct (Marina). Perfect views, best service in Auckland, farm fresh food and to die for wines. No wonder this place often gets political, sports and entertainment luminaries (as well as the world's best winemakers) to drop in for a drink or meal. A pretty penny but worth the splurge if there is a reason to celebrate ...Popular withVegetarian

Granted, I was slightly jetlagged when I ate here, so I don't remember the details, but I do remember enjoying my meal a lot. Peter Gordon is a pretty famous NZ chef--he calls his style "magpie cuisine", meaning he picks from all kinds of culinary traditions, and uses typical NZ ingredients, such as the special sweet potatoes they have there. ...Popular withLuxuryFoodies

Some of the absolute BEST lamp chop you will ever try. It's fresh, made very well and stays in your mouth for awhile. Cost per plate is around 30 NZD and higher, but it's worth it for the ambiance, booth style, and quality of service. If you want a place to eat in Auckland, make it Tony's Lord Nelson Restaurant.
