Carla Berti is looking for advice on Mountain View :

I just moved to MV and I'm simply lost here... I'm looking for interesting things to do, new restaurants, places to see... here in MV and around the Peninsula. Any recommendations? :-)

One of the best hidden spots on the peninsula. Great views of the bay, nice walking trails, even a nice beach. Bring a picnic and enjoy the sun! The playground here is epic.

put slices of avocado on top. The Caldo de Camarone is really good on a cold day--it's a brothy soup with shrimp, chayote, carrots, onions, and other goodies. The soup is served with a bunch of toppings like cilantro, jalapeno, onions, and tortillas. They also have a huge juicer so you can order fresh orange juice or carrot juice, or a mix of the two.

Santana Row is a great stop if you're planning to stay in the South Bay. It has tons of restaurants and shops (and more shops across the street if Gucci, Burberry, and Ferragamo do not satisfy your ... read more
shopping needs)! Although Santana Row has many restaurants, I wouldn't go there for a high-end dining experience (although the price might suggest it), but Santana Row is a fun and lively place to be if you want to mingle and hang out at the restaurant bars afterward.

Best shopping in the South Bay! Across the street is Westfield Valley Fair shopping center with Macy's and Nordstrom. Have fun :)
