This is really a very nice zoo. It's clean, compact and attractive with lovely landscaping. There are plenty of benches, a picnic area and a playground. The diverse array of animals are in well maintained settings reminiscent of their natural habitats. There is a petting zoo, too, and several other activities for children.

This is a beautiful neighborhood for exploring. Featuring a variety of small and large homes from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the highlight of the neighborhood is Charnwood Street with its large residences built for Tyler's elite combined with a few simple cabins from the early 1860's. The 125 homes in this district, built from the 1860's to ...

What a lovely place for flower lovers! This incredible garden is home of Tyler's annual four-day Rose Show, part of the Texas Rose Festival. With Tyler named the rose capital of the U.S., this is a big deal here, with a queen and her court, a Queen's Tea garden party (attended by the entire community) and various related events. The ...

When in Tyler, you should take some time to learn about the city's connection with the rose business. We visited this unusual museum with a former Rose Queen, so she was really proud to share this important piece of Tyler's heritage. The purpose of the museum is to preserve and show the history of Tyler, the city's connection with field-grown roses ...

Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, these 11 Craftsmen style bungalows are an excellent example of row houses built in the 1920's and 1930's in working class neighborhoods in Tyler. Located in central Tyler, five blocks from the courthouse, these modest, almost identical homes were built as rental houses for African-Americans. After World War ll, the houses were ...

This is a small and friendly airport offering flights to and from Dallas and Houston. Amenities include free wi-fi and two simple cafes (both close at 2PM).
