Mt Rosa Lodge may be a thirty minute drive from Queenstown, but it might as well be a million miles away. Forget the hustle and roar of town - this lodge is paradise on earth for those seeking the opposite. Nestled in the heart of Gibbston - the pinot noir capital on New Zealand this is the obvious choice of accommodation for wine lovers. There is a wine flavour to most things here - the owner is a wine maker, the grapes on the front lawn go into making the wine you have for supper and the views of the whole wine region are as breathtaking as the vino. The rooms are beautiful and serine, quiet and comfortable. Dinner can be prepared on site and the food is outstanding - the food mixes local flavours with an eclectic mix of eastern influences all washed down with the local drop. For foodies and wine lovers you'll struggle to find a better fit than this.Recommended for:

If you’re looking for somewhere beautiful and unique to stay in the Queenstown area, this might well be it. This elegant B&B is situated about thirty minutes from Queenstown, high above Gibbston, the vineyard-soaked valley renowned for its pinot noir. Every room here is large and luxurious – especially the timber beamed lounge - with an attention to detail that the discerning traveller comes to expect. The pride the owners take in everything they do is obvious, especially when it comes to their gourmet breakfasts – exquisite dinners make from local produce can also be arranged upon request. Regardless of whether you dine here or not, make sure you sample the wine made from the grapes right outside your bedroom door. And for a truly memorable experience take a home-made hamper up to Table Rock to watch the sunset – the views out over the valley, mountains and vines are second to none.Recommended for:
