Multnomah Falls Lodge (a National Historic Landmark), was constructed around 1925 at a cost of $40,000. The stone and timber "Cascadian" style building was designed by noted Portland architect Albert Doyle.
I'm big on architectural significance, so I'm inclined to give places like this 4 Stars, as long as what's inside doesn't distract too much from the historical significance. The fun and interesting gift shop confirms a National Park vibe, the rest rooms were at the ready and clean, I didn't come here to eat, and it really was all about the Lodge (and the money shot behind it).Recommended for:
