I think if you're a Frida Kahlo obsessive, this place has a lot more resonance. For me, I like her and all, but the museum wasn't that gripping. Interesting, and beautifully arranged, but we were in and out of here in 45 minutes or less. By contrast, we found the Trotsky house nearby much more interesting just because we didn't already know so much about the place or him.Recommended for:

I know this is total and complete sacrilege on like 20 different levels to say this, but I don't really like Frida Kahlo. (Dodging tomatoes now...) But I do love Diego Rivera, and history, and Mexico City. So I'm happy that this museum has way more than enough Frida to make fans happy, but enough Diego Rivera artwork (no big murals, but you can visit those elsewhere in the DF), cool pre-Columbian artifacts, and fascinating history to make this museum worthwhile for pretty much anyone.Recommended for:

This gal was truly avant garde for her time and place. Her work is very evocative of feminine spirit and she mixes emotions from many different planes of thought. Much of her work is a bit overbearing but this collection has many smaller things that reveal her subtle and ironic senses of humor and sensuality. This building looks small but has a lot inside and I suggest trying to find a quiet spot and wait to sense some of the tricky, ineffible currents there.
