Interesting museum covering a wide range of scientific and industrial topics with an accent on those related to Manchester and the North West

One of Manchester's most popular tourist attractions and equally popular with school children from around the region. Full of interactive exhibitions and experiments and a great place to learn more about the history of the city.

Spent a very pleasant afternoon here and still use some of the insights I gleaned in teaching the industrial revolution.

Fantastic museum with lots of exhibitions, from steam engines, to flying, to science experiments. Lots of info on the origins of the Industrial Revolution

The MOSI is a large museum with a couple of buildings. It showcases trains, airplanes, cotton, textiles, and Manchester's history with it. It's very big so plan for a full day to explore and visit.

Great day out for the family! Lots of industrial machinery, much of it in working order - and in operation for all to see. Railway carriages, wagons and locomotives large and small - and replicas under steam for rides along a small section of the world's first inter-city passenger railway. Across the road, lots of aircraft, cars, etc.

Description

The award-winning Museum of Science & Industry (MOSI) aims to “bring innovation to life.” It does this with hands-on exhibits that allow children (of all ages) to grapple with tools and toys. It has an air and space gallery, a power hall and a communications gallery, which demonstrates the evolution from talking to texting. The museum was established in 1969, and moved into its current premises at ... read more
