Attention Hikers!!!!..The Na Pali Coast is a very special place!! The pali, or cliffs, provide a rugged grandeur of deep, narrow valleys ending abruptly at the sea.
DAY HIKING IS NOW ALLOWED WITHOUT A PERMIT UP TO HANAKOA VALLEY (6 MILES IN FROM TRAILHEAD). ANYONE PROCEEDING BEYOND HANAKOA VALLEY MUST POSSESS A VALID CAMPING PERMIT.
The first 2 miles of the trail, from Ha’ena State Park to Hanakapi’ai Beach, make a popular day hike

The "end of the road" is worth the drive. Try to go early in the day during the week as the parking can be difficult. Once you get to Ke'e Beach just walk to the right a block or two and you will be mostly alone. All the tourists park and plunk immediately on the sand, but isolation is just a short hike away down a pristine beach and the view back toward the Na Pali cliffs is the best.

Good for hiking although the first part can get a bit crowded. Slippery and muddy after rain. You can go to the beach a couple of miles in (where there are cairns and cats all over the place), carry on to the waterfall, or do the whole loop (more of an overnight backpacking trip).Recommended for:Backpackers

Beautiful, exhilarating, and spiritual. The Na Pali Coast trail provides breathtaking view of the Kauai coast. It is a memorable 22 miles hike; don't forget to stop once in a while and appreciate the nature surrounding you--every corner is a postcard here.Recommended for:Spiritual Seekers

This is the most pristine and scenic coastline you'll see on Kauai. There's parking and a trailhead at the park entrance where you can enjoy the beach or take a hike along the coast. If you hike about 45 minutes in you'll be rewarded with a small cove and maybe a natural shower falls on the beach. You can get a permit and also backpack in for some camping as well, (remember to pack your trash). The trail is often wet and even muddy, so be prepared to wear decent hiking shoes, pack some water, and anything you would do to prepare for a 3-4 hour hike in warm-humid conditions. And don't forget you camera, you won't be disappointed. If you're more inclined to skip the hike you can probably take a boat tour to see the coast as well.

Loved this hike. It's not easy, however it's not extremely hard. It can be very slippery, though, so wear proper shoes or shoes you don't mind getting red mud all over.
The views from this hike are breathtaking, literally. So many times I stopped and couldn't believe what my eyes saw was real.
A must do if you can physically hike. Bring a hiking stick to help out if possible to save your knees.
