    Fish River Canyon

    4 reviews

A fun and tough hike where you're not likely to run into anyone other than a couple of disgruntled baboons. Be warned: they will throw things at you. I learned the hard way.

    Cape Cross Seal Colony

    3 reviews

The sea safari at the Cape Cross Seal Reserve was one of my highlights in Namibia. There were like a million seals, we didn't know where to look first. Even a dolphin swam right next to our boat. It really was an awesome trip :)

    Cheetah Conservation Fund

    2 reviews

We stayed 2 nights at the lovely 2 bedroom Babson House on the property of this private not for profit reserve. Resident rescued and orphan cheetahs are in your front yard. They also take volunteers on 2 or more week basis(accommodations for this are rondovals). It was founded by Dr Laurie Marker in 1990. You can visit for an afternoon.. ...

The White Lady Rock Art Site

    1 review

The rock art is fascinating and there is so much of it! Much more than just the "White Lady" site. Even if you're not into cave paintings, the scenery here is stunning (especially just before sunset). There's a bit of wildlife, too - especially of interest to bird watchers. The walk is fantastic - I've done it so many times ...

    Brandberg Mountain

    1 review

The Brandberg and area around it is so beautiful. Just about dusk is when you start to understand how it got its name, meaning Fire Mountain, and it will take your breath away. There are great hikes and a fantastic guided tour to one of the rock art sites.

    Living Desert Snake Park

    1 review

While small, the Living Desert Snake Park has plenty of serpents on display in clean, well maintained enclosures. The man that runs the museum is passionate, knowledgeable, and experienced with snakes (as his scars prove). It's definitely a worthwhile stop while you're in Swakopmund.

    SPAR Shopping Center

    1 review

Best food store in Windhoek. If, for example, you are going for self-drive across Namibia, or just needing a supermarket for any other reason then this is the place. From the standard staples through to more exotic imported foods, they stock most anything edible.

    Gocheganas Nature Reserve

    1 review

No loins here, but otherwise a relatively small park concentrated with a diversity of animals. We saw a herd of giraffees, rhinos, zebras, wildebeest, springbox, and more. The best part about it is that it is a day trip from Windhoek.

    National Marine Aquarium

    1 review

While small, the National Marine Aquarium in Swakopmund is a nice little attraction that highlights the area's marine life. The exhibits are well done and the feedings are a lot of fun to watch.

    Hoba Meteorite

    1 review

OK.... it didn't change my life but it was still a pretty cool thing to see. Ideally, grab something to eat at the Spar supermarket in Grootfontein, then drive out here for a picnic next to the world's largest meteorite. Kinda neat.
