One of my all time favourite ancient Roman sites - this place is like no other. Well preserved, ironically, due to the volcanic ashes that fall from nearby Mount Vesuvius that also led to the city's destruction. This ancient site evoked a variety of emotions in me - awe, wonder, sadness and curiosity.

Naples is a wild ride. The food is notoriously amazing, but so is the crime. It's beautiful but untamed, a really unique place among Italian cities. Great art and architecture go hand in hand with crazy traffic and amazing pizza.

I've been to Capri 4 times and I'm always blown away. The beaches are georgous, the Faro (the lighthouse) is incredible with it's natural swimming pool. The food, eating and drinking outside is magical any time day or night. One of my top five places in the world.

May travellers use this city as a base because of its location and convenience to travel to other cities in the region such as Positano and Capri - just a boat/ferry ride away. However I did love the city, its ambiance, architecture and a whole lot of acitivty to do like shows in the theater.

Bit less crowded that Sorrento or Positano but well worth exploring if you're doing the Amalfi Coast.

Although some travellers who go the route of the Amalfi area just do a day trip here, we decided to sleep over to be able to go around the place longer, savor the ambiance and admire its beauty. Its truly magical and a photographers delight. I vow to go back and spend at least two nights.

This is an often underrated city in Italy, but there is a lot to see here! There are so many museums(Monastero dei Cappuccini, Monastero degli Scalzi...), the largest outdoor market in Italy (piazza Mercato), and, of course, the slow food movement originated here(bar, barretti e barrtielle..) so there are some absolutely amazing eats!

Italy's smallest community sits like a jewel box overlooking the sea. A tiny village with a lovely town square and church plus friendly locals. Worth a stop.
