10 seconds away from the flat! The National Archaeological Museum of Athens is the largest archaeological museum in Greece and one of the most important museums in the world devoted to ancient Greek art.

Probably the best Museum of Greece, the National Archaeological Museum hosts great exhibits from all over the ancient world. It is located about 10 minutes away from "the Blue House" (by taxi, car or bus).

National Archeological Museum in Athens hosts an enormous collection of Greek art and other artifacts. If you are limited by time, get a guide to take you through the highlights – you’ll be glad you did it. There is so much to see here. Don’t miss the most famous artifact – the gold Mask of Agamemnon.

Even thought it has one of the most interesting collections in Greece, it's located in a quite strange and dangerous area. It really worths a visit but try being careful or just take a taxi to reach the place and everything will be great!!

We walked to the museum from our hotel. I think it took us about 20 minutes and asking for directions 3 or 4 times but we finally found it. The line wasn't that long and we were able to get in after paying for our tickets. It took us most of the day to see everything and I think that we still missed out on a little. The artifacts they have are greatly preserved and have a lot of detail.

The National Archaeological Museum is a wonder that not enough people see when in Athens.
It is in a bit of a sketchy neighborhood but taking a 10 minute taxi ride is well worth the cost.
If you are a history buff this is the greatest collection that exists in Greece.
