This is such a fantastic museum - it's great that nearly all London museums are free Great place to amuse children for hours. Look online for their late nights for adults with booze and sleepovers for children.

What can you say, this is one of THE museums I've wanted to visit since I was a kid. The best collection of geological examples, dinosaurs and ancient mammals (giant Sloth!) I have ever seen. Definitely a place someone like me could spend an entire day nerding out, unfortunately we didn't get much time after mistakenly going to the London Dungeon, thinking it was a torture museum.. (oops..).

A fantastic place to spend an afternoon. I would avoid going during half term (school break) or on long weekends though, as the line can get very long when parents are out trying to educate their children with dinosaur bones.
My favourite thing in the whole building is the skeleton of a GIANT sloth like dinosaur. I imagine it being vicious, but slow, so I could get on its back and sleep.

Perhaps one of, if not, the greatest natural history museum in the world, this South Kensington icon holds fossils galore. An absolute must do with the children and anyone who enjoys all things flora and fauna, past and present.

If you love dinosaurs, or are travelling with children that do, I would highly recommend checking out the Natural History Museum of London. They have one of the largest collections I've seen
