This is a great tour to have a behind the scenes look of a live National TV stations production. Disability Access needs to let the tour guide know ahead of time for them to escort you around to the route of the elevator. Again, no disability parking is available in the area of this tour. The time for this site is 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

Out of all the times I went to NYC, this is my first time going on Top of the Rock observatory. NBC tour is part of the New York pass so there is no reason not to do that since we are already in the area. The tour was not bad but I am really the wrong audience for it. I haven't owned a TV nor any cable subscription in over 10 years. (It is really not as weird as you might think.) I suspect the NBC tour would be a lot more entertaining for those who actually watch TV. Having said that, it is still interesting to see what the newsroom and studio are like. If you are a fan of Dr. Oz or the Saturday Light Live, you will enjoy it more than I do.
The tour guides are very informative but a bit too formal. If you plan to do this tour make sure you make reservation in advance since tickets do sell out often.

I have always been fascinated by tv and what goes behinds the scenes of taping a show. If you take the NBC Studio Tour, you will get a glimpse into that. The guides are very knowledgeable and engaging. It was cool to see the studio where Jimmy Fallon tapes and part of what goes behind MSNBC. It was interesting to see for some
of the shows that they do tapings in there, the studio looks small versus what you may see on tv.

Take a tour of the NBC Studios. See where Saturday Night Live is filmed, as well as NBC News, the Today Show, Dr. Oz, Jimmy Fallon, and many more. You may run into a celebrity or two while on the tour, so keep your cameras out.
The tours are run by NBC pages, who are quite knowledgeable about many things NBC related.

I went on short notice but , if you want to see Saturday Night Live, or Jimmy Fallon, you need to book in advance. On internet on the NBC site (tickets are free) The tickets are also free for the 911 memorial but without the New York Pass, you have to wait,

Such a fun tour! The green screen is hilarious and you can actually pose and read just like an on camera correspondent. The gift shop has some great souvenirs. This is a great tour for TV lovers and groups of friends and family.Recommended for:Family Travelers

I'm originally from NY City and I thought this was a great activity for some friends and I that I was traveling with. What we actually did was go to a taping of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. His show live was very entertaining from finish to start, and my friends and I were selected to rock out with the musical guests at the end. Also these tickets were free so with NY being a rather expensive place to visit, it was great being able to take advantage of the freebies.
